What is worktop templating?
Worktop templating is the process of accurately measuring and recording the dimensions, angles, and cutout positions of a fitted kitchen at the installation site, performed after base units are fixed but before fabrication of stone or solid surface worktops begins.

These records go to the worktop fabricator, who uses them to cut and prepare stone (granite, marble, limestone), engineered quartz, or other solid surface materials with accuracy. Getting this right matters because worktops are custom-made to fit your specific kitchen. Poor templating can lead to gaps, misaligned seams, or cutouts that don't align with your sink or appliances.
